Sifu Janet Gething was born and raised in Bethpage, NY. In 1991 she earned her BFA in Graphic Design from Long Island University and shortly afterwards moved to PA with her first husband. She joined the Pai Lum Tao family in 1996, studying Tai Chi under Sifu Bobby Earl at the Chinese Kung Fu Academy in Archbald. An unexpected divorce freed up a great deal of Sifu Janet's time and she found solace in her training and support from her Dragon family. She began training in Kung Fu and Kenpo to balance out her internal training. With great pride, Sifu Janet received her 1st Higher Level Black Sash in Tai Chi in 2000. Sifu Janet remarried in 2002 to Jim and is now a step mom to Jimmy and Maggie. Sifu Janet continues to train and teach under Sifu Bob Earl at what is now a Glenn Wilson's Martial Arts Academies International School. Throughout her training career, Sifu Janet has placed in eight tournaments but her greatest pride comes from watching the advancement of the students that she teaches.
